We build things worth your time.
Most ideas start as noise: hunches, opinions, a demo that looks right. Mizar is an independent product studio in Australia. We find the part worth building, then build it properly. Some of it is ours, like Trellis. Some of it belongs to founders we work with through The Practice.
02 · The bet
AI lowered the cost of building. It raised the cost of building the wrong thing.
Anyone can ship software now. Very little of it deserves the time it asks of people. The hard part has moved from engineering to judgement: what to build, what to cut, when to test, and when to walk away.
AI is an accelerant, not an originator. It speeds up whatever you point it at.
So we start by pulling one bet out of the noise and holding it up to the light before anything gets built around it.
03 · The frame
Structure before speed.
Every product we touch, ours or a founder's, grows on the same frame. It is what lets us move fast without building the wrong thing quickly.
Evidence before velocity
We look for proof that people want it before we build more of it.
Small, deliberate bets
Scope the smallest thing that can prove or disprove the idea.
Honest kills
Stopping is a legitimate result. We would rather know early.
Ship, then keep learning
Launch starts the loop. It does not end the project.
